However there are still thousands of Greyhounds who are destroyed every week, month and year simply because they were not fast enough or are injured or too old at about age 3 or 4.  Greyhounds are passed from owner to owner and spend a huge part of their short lives in trailers and transport. They should not be treated as commercial cargo, they are loyal, intelligent dogs who deserve more.
